D1Softball Top 25: Oklahoma State, Others Make Moves

Top-ranked UCLA holds steady atop the D1Softball Top 25 Rankings after a 6-0 weekend at home, which included a perfect game by freshman Lexi Sosa. The No. 2 Texas Longhorns had a similar weekend, going 4-0 with a perfect game by senior Miranda Elish.
The top five teams went undefeated for the first time since opening weekend. No. 6 Oklahoma jumped a spot over No. 7 Louisiana after the Ragin’ Cajuns suffered a loss to unranked Coastal Carolina.
Florida remains at No. 8 after sweeping its first SEC series against Auburn. Florida State and Alabama both dropped a spot to make way for the Cowgirls, who move up to No. 9 after back to back 5-0 weekends. Oregon remains on the move at No. 12 this week.
There are no new entrants to the poll this week. Cal State Fullerton, North Texas and Tennessee all received votes.
The Southeastern Conference leads with eight teams in the rankings, while the Pac 12 has six representatives, just ahead of the Big 12 with four. Other conferences include the ACC (2), Big Ten (2) Sun Belt (1) American Athletic (1), Mountain West (1).
The D1Softball Top 25 Rankings are compiled by polling 10 sportswriters, broadcasters, analysts and coaches from across the nation, and are headlined by lead writers Rhiannon Potkey and Tara Henry.
