#1 Kelley Lynch hit a three-run home run & throws 5.1 of scoreless ball as No. 2 Washington’s defeats No. 5 FSU.

Kelley Lynch hit a three-run home run and threw 5.1 of scoreless ball in No. 2 Washington’s 7-0 victory over No. 5 Florida State in Clearwater. Lynch became just the second Husky freshman ever to hit a home run and earn a shutout win.

#5 UCLA’s Jenavee Peres hits her 1st “Mom Bomb”.

Jenavee Peres hits her first “Mom Bomb” against Alabama. Peres made her playing debut for UCLA at St. Pete Elite Invitational in Clearwater and had two home runs, two doubles and five RBIs in 15 at-bats.

After upsetting LSU to open the Judi Garman Classic on Thursday, LMU took down another Power 5 program by beating Michigan 2-1. The Lions scored two runs in the second inning on a Molly Grumbo singled to center field. Linnay Wilson was brilliant in the circle picking up the complete-game win for LMU.

#3 Oregon’s Haley Cruse leads the Mary Nutter Classic with a .667 average, .684 OBP and 10 runs.

Oregon‘s Haley Cruse led all players in the 29-team field at the Mary Nutter Classic with a .667 batting average (12 for 18) and .684 on-base percentage and 10 runs scored. She also had six RBIs, two doubles and two triples, accounting for 16 of Oregon’s 39 runs scored over the weekend.

#1 Kentucky scores 12 runs in the final 3 innings to beat Marshall 16-15.

It’s a midweek game and your team is down 15-4 after 3.5 innings. A lot of teams in this situation would “mail it in” and just accept defeat. Not Kentucky. The Wildcats scored 12 runs in the final 3 innings and blanked Marshall in the final 3 frames to win the game 16-15!

Missouri started five different pitchers on opening weekend and pick up five wins. This was Mizzou’s first unblemished opening weekend since 2016.

Ohio University sophomore Caitlin Fogue hit two grand slams in a single game, including a walk-off grand slam to beat St. Bonaventure 9-5.

#14 Michigan’s Lauren Esman delivers a pinch-hit grand slam – her 1st collegiate hit – to break a tie in the 6th & propel Michigan to a win.

Michigan sophomore, Lauren Esman, delivered a pinch-hit grand slam – her first collegiate hit – to break a tied game in the sixth and propel the No. 11-ranked University of Michigan softball team to an 8-4 win against Louisville on Sunday morning (Feb. 16).

If you build it they will come. After two years of hiring, building, practicing and waiting, Clemson softball made its debut this season. The Tigers played their first official game against St. John’s in the UCF Black & Gold Classic and drew 1616 fans for their home opener against Western Carolina. Clemson sold out of season tickets within a month of going them on sale.

#13: First-year program Clemson beats Maryland 21-2 in a game that featured two grand slams in one inning.

Clemson’s history in its stadium isn’t very long, but the Tigers likely set a few records that will last. The first-year program beat Maryland 21-2 in five innings in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Clemson scored 14 runs in the second inning alone, with junior Bailey Taylor and freshman Valerie Cagle each hitting grand slams. Cagle added a three-run shot in the third inning to finish the day 4 for 5 with 8 RBIs. Clemson had 18 hits and 20 RBIs overall.

#15: Georgia lets up 11 runs against JMU but rallies with 10 in the fifth to win 19-11 on a run-rule.

Teams that win by run-rule usually don’t surrender 11 runs. But that is how crazy’s Georgia’s win over JMU was. After falling behind 6-0 in the second inning, the Bulldogs rallied to beat JMU 19-11 in five innings. Georgia scored 10 runs in the fifth inning.

South Carolina’s Hannah Kumiyama hits a pinch-hit, walk-off home run with the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh, the freshman belted a three-run home run to centerfield to lead South Carolina to a 5-2 victory over Troy at the Black & Garnet Challenge.

East Bracket (SUPERS) - #15 Georgia vs #3 South Carolina

#1: No. 3 Texas beats No. 1 UCLA (at UCLA) & then No. 2 Washington at the Judi Garman Classic.

Talk about a Texas two-step. All the No. 3 Longhorns did to start their Southern California swing was beat No. 1 UCLA and No. 2 Washington in back-to-back days. After handing the Bruins their first loss on Thursday in a non-conference game, Texas beat UW 8-6 at the Judi Garman Classic. The Longhorns used three pitchers in victory over UW, with Courtney Day picking up her fourth win of the season. Lauren Burke was 3-for-4 with a double, home run, two runs scored and three RBIs.

#4 LSU’s Maribeth Gorsuch throws the first 7-inning perfect game in program history.


A perfect game in Baton Rouge. LSU senior Maribeth Gorsuch threw the first seven-inning perfect game in LSU program history. Gorsuch faced 21 batters, threw 21 first-pitch strikes, and struck out a career-high 16 batters.

Georgina Corrick tied the USF single-game strikeout record with 18 as the Bulls beat Wisconsin 2-1 on a walk-off single by Megan Pierro in the bottom of the eighth inning. Corrick gave up seven hits and no earned runs while walking two.

#3 North Texas’s Hope Trautwein fans a C-USA record 21 batters in 1 game.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi batters had absolutely no hope against University of North Texas pitcher Hope Trautwein. The junior right-hander struck out a record 21 batters in a 3-0 victory over the Islanders in eight innings. Trautwein’s 21 strikeouts was a single-game Conference USA record. The prodigious total boosted Trautwein’s career strikeout total to over 400, becoming the third Mean Green pitcher to reach the milestone.
