Literally in Stillwater, where as Thanksgiving approached, Oklahoma State’s head coach and other football dads tended to the high school field on which his son would soon play a state tournament game. Stillwater isn’t just where he got his head coaching opportunity. It’s home now. But figuratively, he’s comfortable in a Stillwater state of mind. Comfortable tending to a program that thrives as underdog—as the state’s other team.
