NC State’s Jennifer Patrick-Swift Relieved of Duties
Breaking NewsNorth Carolina State head coach Jennifer Patrick-Swift was relieved of her duties as announced by a statement from the school on Thursday. The Wolfpack started the 2023 season 5-10 and were 109-81 in the previous four seasons under Patrick-Swift.
“After careful consideration, we decided to make a change in the leadership of our softball program. We will begin a national search following the conclusion of the season. We wish Jennifer the best in the future,” NC State athletic director Boo Corrigan said in the statement.
NC State did not announce who will be leading the program on an interim basis.
Assistant coach Patrick Swift will also not be returning, according to the statement, while pitching coach Ketarah Devries left the program before the season began. Devan Boland and Carson Shaner are the only assistant coaches listed on the NC State roster.
The Wolfpack, who have a roster that includes nine freshmen, will travel to Virginia Tech this weekend for a three-game series to begin ACC play.
