D1Softball is pleased to announce that In the Circle, college softball’s longest-running podcast, is joining the D1Softball family of brands. Featuring hosts Eric Lopez and Victor Anderson, In the Circle provides in-depth discussion and analysis of all aspects of college softball, featuring interviews with players, coaches and the game’s leading experts.
LSU head coach Beth Torina described the impact of In the Circle on college softball:
“If you want to be in the know you need to get In the Circle. No one else does it like Eric and Victor. Eric asks all the right questions and keeps himself as informed as anyone in the game. With origins nearly a decade ago, In the Circle is the original softball podcast and recently celebrated its 800th episode. The podcast drops on Mondays and Thursdays and is available on Apple and Spotify.
In the Circle joins The D1Softball Podcast, hosted by Jenna Becerra and Amanda Lorenz, to provide softball fans expanded access to the best analysts of the college game. About the team
Eric Lopez – Lopez has been the play-by-play broadcaster for UCF Softball since 2007. He calls numerous UCF sports on ESPN+, including men’s basketball, baseball, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s soccer. Eric called USSSA Pride Softball play by play from 2011 to 2017, and has covered several major sporting events such as the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, the NBA Finals, the NCAA Women’s College Cup and the Women’s College World Series. He is college softball’s premier bracketologist and will lead D1Softball’s postseason bracket forecasts and analysis on the road to Oklahoma City.
Victor Anderson- Anderson has been broadcasting college softball since 2003, covering UCF Softball from 2003-2007. He was a play-by-play broadcaster for the first official season of the Women’s Pro Fastpitch league in 2023, primarily calling the home games of the Smash It Sports Vipers. Anderson also called games for the USSSA Pride of the National Pro Fastpitch league for several seasons. He was the radio voice for Rollins College softball from 2011-2019 before heading to Saint Leo University from 2019-2020. Victor currently broadcasts on ESPN+ for Stetson University, where he calls several sports including football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, and softball. He is also the host of D2Tuesdays, a weekly podcast covering the world of Division II college softball.
