Arizona Expected to Hire LMU’s Christian Conrad as Pitching Coach

Top Stories

The biggest assistant coach vacancy is now filled. Arizona will hire Loyola Marymount’s Christian Conrad as its next pitching coach, sources told D1Softball. Conrad replaces Taryne Mowatt-McKinney, who departed the staff earlier this offseason.

Conrad spent three seasons at LMU and helped develop two-time WCC Pitcher of the Year Jenna Perez. He has spent a lot of time around some of the best pitching minds in the sport. Before arriving at LMU, Conrad was the volunteer assistant at Florida State under Lonni Alameda. He was also the Oregon undergraduate assistant in 2018, when he worked with then-head coach Mike White and the team that had Maggie Balint, Miranda Elish and Megan Kleist. Cornad has also spent time with USA Softball and Athletes Unlimited.

Conrad is also part of the innovation happening with pitching staffs in college softball. To learn more about that, he was quoted in D1Softball’s Graham Hays story “Center of the Revolution: Florida State Becomes Softball’s Pitching Laboratory.”
