As soon as she entered the coaching profession in 2018, Morgan Zerkle imagined what it would be like to return to her alma mater and lead the program.

Thanks to another coach having the same opportunity, Zerkle received the chance.

The former Marshall University standout was named the head coach of the Thundering Herd after Megan Smith Lyon left to take over as the head coach of her alma mater North Carolina.
