The Sooner leadoff stayed hot last weekend, going 7 for 11 at the plate with three home runs, two doubles, six runs scored and five RBI. Coleman extended her home run streak to five straight games before getting only one at-bat in OU’s final game of the weekend.
Pitcher of the Week: Montana Fouts, Alabama
Fouts was perfect, again. The Alabama right-hander tossed a 6-inning perfect game against Longwood and threw a total of 19 shutout innings in three starts last week. The fifth-year senior recorded double-digit strikeouts in all three games. Fouts allowed just four hits and four walks and struck out a total of 36 batters.
Freshman of the Week: NiJaree Canady, Stanford
The rookie continues to impress in the circle. Canady went 2-0 last week, including an 18-strikeout no-hitter against Villanova. It was her second no-hitter of the season. Canady struck out 30 batters and issued a single walk in 13.0 innings pitched and still boasts a 0.00 ERA on the season.
