Top StoriesPlayer of the Week: Skylar Wallace, Florida
Wallace batted .615 (8 of 13) with three home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored in four games last week. In a three-game series against Tennessee, Wallace hit a home run in each game and extended her hitting streak to 11 straitht games. Wallace has hit seven home runs in the last six games and has reached base safetly in 41 of 42 games played this season. In SEC play, she is batting (.529) and slugging (1.216).
Pitcher of the Week: Laurin Krings, Missouri
Krings posted a 3-0 mark, including a no-hitter, and did not allow a run more than 15 innings of work last week. She recorded 28 strikeouts and walked one. In her no-hitter against North Texas, the junior struck out a career-high 17 batters, which is a Missouri program record for seven innings. Krings added nine more strikeouts in a three-hit shutout to complete the three-game sweep of the Mean Green.
Freshman of the Week: Makenna Reid, Florida State
Reid made three appearances for the Seminoles last week and improved to 10-0 as FSU swept the series over Virginia Tech. The lefthander did not allow an earned run in 9.1 innings and lowered her season ERA to 0.93. Reid earned two wins over the Hokies, pitching a single-game career high 4.2 innings on Friday, allowing just three hits. Reid earned a save in the first game of the series, working out of a bases-loaded jam to secure the win. She leads the ACC with a 0.29 ERA in conference play.
