Kimberly Stiles intended to work in politics and become a speechwriter once she graduated from college. She majored in political science and communications and took inspiration from C.J. Cregg of The West Wing.

But during the spring of her senior year at the University of Pittsburgh, Stiles realized she wasn’t ready to be done with softball. She applied for graduate assistant positions around the country and ended up at Midwestern State in Texas.
