Meet the New Head Coach: Appalachian State’s Whitney Jones

Whitney Jones was sitting on her couch a few days after Ohio State made a leadership change in softball. The former Buckeye assistant was trying to figure out her future plans when she received a text message from Appalachian State athletic director Doug Gillin.

Gillin asked if Jones would be interested in being the head coach for the Mountaineers. Although it wasn’t on her radar initially, Jones was intrigued.
