Shelby Walters had to keep the secret for nearly 11 months.

The Duke pitcher knew she was transferring to Georgia since last August, but only told a few people in her close circle.

During her junior season at Duke, Walters informed head coach Marissa Young she wanted to use her extra year of eligibility stemming from Covid to start work on her masters degree in kinesiology once she graduated.
