Pitcher of the Week: Lexi Kilfoyl, Oklahoma State

OSU’s ace was dominant in the circle in two appearances against Texas, throwing a pair of shutouts and leading the Cowgirls to the series win over the Longhorns. In two games against Texas, Kilfoyl threw 14 innings, allowed nine hits, no runs, and struck out eleven. In the series opener, Kilfoyl threw a complete game 7-hitter and held the Longhorns off the scoreboard the entire way. She walked one, but gave up no other free passes and no extra base hits. In the series finale, her second appearance of the weekend, Kilfoyl was dominant again. This time, she held Texas’ usually-powerful offense to just two hits – neither for extra bases – and no runs, allowing one walk and striking out four.

Freshman of the Week: Isa Torres, Florida State

A sensation at the shortstop position through the first half of her rookie year as a Seminole, Torres enjoyed a career-best weekend as part of her team’s three-game sweep over NC State. In the series opener, Torres was 3-4 at the plate with two doubles, a home run, and three RBIs. She started the FSU scoring with an RBI double in the second inning, then came through in the clutch with a walkoff, 2-run home run the 7th inning. In game two, she was 1-1 at the plate with an RBI sacrifice fly and two runs scored. To finish the weekend, Torres was again perfect at the plate, going 3-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. She added her third double of the weekend to complete her stellar showing in the series.
