What We Learned: Opening Week

The kids are alright. We’ll get to some of the individual cases, but opening weekend was a festival of freshmen. At least in the Power 5, that’s quite a change from 2021. A season ago, Auburn’s Shelby Lowe and Michigan State’s Ashley Miller were the only true freshmen among Power 5 programs to rank in the top 90 nationally in ERA.
