What We Learned: Week Nine

  • Minnesota will not be unranked this week. The week’s biggest lesson is that we underestimate Autumn Pease, Amber Fiser and the Gophers at our own risk. While not the top-10 battles that played out at Arkansas and Oregon, the four-game series between Minnesota and Northwestern was a thriller from its 10-inning opener to Sunday’s doubleheader finish. And with Pease and Fiser largely taming the Big Ten’s most prolific lineup, Minnesota’s four-game sweep turns the Big Ten race on its head and puts the 2019 World Series entrants front and center nationally.
