D1Softball Top 25: Familiar Names at the Top
Top StoriesFollowing a road series sweep against Texas Tech, Oklahoma remains at No. 1 in the D1Softball Top 25 poll.
The Big 12 holds all three of the top spots following week six, as Texas moves back into the No. 2 position; after losing a midweek game to LSU in Baton Rouge, the Longhorns swept a three-game conference series at home against BYU. Oklahoma State sits at No. 3 after a series sweep of their own, over UCF.
LSU falls to No. 5 following their win over Texas in midweek action, but also after losing two out of three games to Ole Miss at home in an SEC series. All three of the Tigers’ games against Ole Miss were considered by the voters.
For the second week in a row, Texas A&M was the biggest mover of the week, rising five spots to sit at No. 12 in this week’s poll. The Aggies went 2-1 on the week, dominating a doubleheader against Mississippi State on Saturday before dropping the series finale on Sunday.
New to the poll this week is Charlotte; the first-year American Athletic Conference club checks in at No. 21 after a 5-1 start to conference play. The Niners also picked up a victory over Virginia Tech in midweek action.
