Top StoriesThe final weekend of the regular season did not disappoint. No. 1 Oklahoma swept the Bedlam series on the road, handing No. 13 Oklahoma State its 10th loss of the season and dropping the Cowgirls another five spots in the rankings. No. 2 UCLA and No. 3 Florida State took care of business at home as No. 4 Tennessee captured its second-ever SEC regular season title with two wins against South Carolina.
No. 5 Washington makes the biggest leap in the rankings, jumping six spots after a series win over No. 8 Stanford. The rest of the rankings, well let’s just say it felt as if those on the NCAA hosting bubble didn’t help their chances. No. 7 Georgia fell to No. 9 LSU on the road, but is the two seed in the SEC tournament, showing consistency over time in conference play. No. 11 Texas dropped out of the top 10 after being on the wrong side of a Big 12 sweep to No. 13 Baylor.
Cal State Fullerton enters the rankings for the first time at No. 25. The Titans are in the midst of a 14-games win-streak, which includes four consecutive series sweeps in the Big West.
The SEC leads all conferences with seven ranked teams, followed by five from the Pac-12 and four each from the ACC and Big 12. The Big Ten has a pair of teams in the rankings while No. 18 Wichita State (American), No. 23 Central Arkansas (Atlantic Sun) and No. 25 Cal State Fullerton (Big West) continue to carry the flag for conferences beyond the Power 5.
