D1Softball Top 25: Oklahoma Retains No. 1 Dominance in Final Poll

For the third straight season, Oklahoma finishes ranked No. 1 in the final 2023 D1Softball poll.
Oklahoma (61-1) nearly went wire-to-wire at the No. 1 spot this season, falling to No. 2 for only one week after their lone loss to Baylor in Week 2. But after that one-run setback, Oklahoma didn’t lose another game.
The Sooners finished the season on an NCAA-record 53-game winning streak, sweeping Florida State in the Women’s College World Series best-of-three final to capture their third straight national title and seventh overall.
Florida State completes the season at No. 2 in the poll, followed by WCWS semifinalists Stanford at No. 3 and Tennessee at No. 4. Fellow WCWS participants Oklahoma State, Washington and Utah round out the top eight. Clemson and Duke occupy the No. 9 and No. 10 spots, respectively.
Following two straight losses at home in the NCAA regional round, UCLA dropped to No. 12 to finish the season.
The SEC leads all conferences with seven teams represented in the poll, followed by the Pac-12 with five, the Big 12 with four and the ACC with three. The Big Ten, Sun Belt, Mountain West, Southland, AAC and ASUN each have one.
