D1Softball Top 25: The Final Rankings of the 2024 Season
Top 25The national champion Oklahoma Sooners also finish the season in the top spot of the D1Softball Top 25 poll.
Following a 5-1 record at the Women’s College World Series, including a two-game sweep over Texas in the WCWS Championship Series, the Sooners finished the season with a 59-7 overall record.
All eight teams who reached the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City finished in the top eight in the D1Softball poll, including Alabama, who were ranked No. 20 in the final poll of the regular season but vaulted upward after winning the Knoxville Super Regional.
Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M, Baylor, and Missouri – all of whom finished one win away from themselves reaching Oklahoma City – were ranked Nos. 9-13 in the final poll of the season.
Baylor – an unseeded team that reached the Super Regional round – and Liberty – also unseeded and who advanced through the winner’s bracket in the Athens Regional before ultimately falling – are the only two teams to find themselves ranked in the final poll after being unranked in the last poll of the regular season.
Eight conferences are represented by at least one team in the final D1Softball Top 25 poll of the year, including five conferences with multiple ranked teams.
